Super Easy Flatbread
This is such an easy recipe, and makes about 8 decent (20cm) flatbreads. Perfect to have with that warming winter curry or soup. Look for those recipes in the next few weeks.
The addition of butter and milk to these makes a really nice pliable dough, and doesn’t need flour when rolling out. This will keep them nice and soft.
50g butter
185mL milk
2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
oil for cooking
Combine butter and milk in saucepan until butter is melted, then add to flour and salt. Mix until it is all combined and knead for a few minutes. Add extra flour if it is too sticky.
Wrap with glad wrap and leave 30 mins. If you don’t have time for this, don’t worry, you can use it straight away.
Cut into 8 pieces and make evenly sized balls. Roll them out 1 at a time, and fry in lightly oiled frypan 1 - 2 mins until brown spots appear. Flip and cook other side.
Keep cooked flatbreads in a clean tea towel until needed.
